For the past four years, South Melbourne Market is proud to have hosted Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea, raising over $20,000 for Cancer Council Victoria. Sadly we are unable to host an event this year, so we are encouraging our community to host their own Biggest Morning Tea, either virtually, or with a couple of close friends and family at home. Every dollar you raise will help fund Cancer Council’s life-saving research, prevention, support programs and information.

This is a really difficult time for many of us as COVID-19 continues to affect our daily lives. But the pandemic is making it especially tough for people living with cancer. With many fundraising events being cancelled, volunteers unable to work and some people facing financial instability, providing ongoing support to those impacted by cancer is critical at this time more than ever.
To help you plan your perfect morning tea, we’ve put together a list of delicious treats courtesy of our Market traders. We’ve also got some great recipes – perfect for those who are keen to do some baking at home! So, set up your fundraising page and start planning your event. There’s also loads of tips, tools and resources from the Cancer Council to help get you started.
Don’t forget, our Order & Collect Service is available for those who prefer not to come inside the Market. Simply place your order with our participating traders and drive through to collect your goods each week.
