Celebrate the Dumpling

A Chinese New Year Feast

Celebrate the Year of the Pig by making your own delicious dumplings. In this fun hands-on workshop you will make a range of dumplings in various wrappers including:  steamed giant lotus leaf parcel filled with chicken, lap cheong (Chinese pork sausage), shiitake, ha maih (dried baby shrimp) and sticky rice; ginger prawn and pork dumplings, deep fried and steamed with lashings of ginger infused sauce and spring onions; petite pearl meatballs rolled in sticky rice served steamed; and steamed crystal prawn dumplings in translucent wrappers made from scratch. Enjoy the feast with flavourful dipping sauces and a seasonal Asian slaw tossed in a refreshing lime, ginger and sesame dressing. In the spirit of Chinese tradition, Lou will be presenting red envelopes as a gift for an auspicious start to your year of dumpling making.

Our Special Master classes run for a longer than our regular Master Classes, allowing you more time to get up close and personal with the chefs from some of Melbourne’s best restaurants. Sharing their extraordinary knowledge and expertise, our Master Class chefs will show you how to create the food that they are famous for and teach you how to take your cooking to the next level.
