Hagen’s Organics’ second Meet the Producer event features Milking Yard Farm chickens. The Milking Yard Farm chickens are used by some of Melbourne’s top chefs including Guy Grossi and Paul Wilson.
The focus of the day will be to discuss the provenance of the birds, how they’re raised, specialties of the Sommerlad breed of chickens and what makes them different to their commercially produced counterparts.
All are welcome, just stop by the store between 9:45am and 3:00pm for information, product tastings and specials.
In the lead up the ‘Meet the Producer – Milking Yard Farm’, Hagen’s will be running weekly specials on their chicken products.
Hagen’s will also be running chicken butchering showcase sessions, that are a condensed version of what they typically offer in their butchers classes. The class will run for 30 – 45 minutes, showcasing the deboning and rolling of a roast chicken. Students are invited to take notes, ask questions and engage with the process of preparing meat. Students will receive a complimentary Hagen’s Organics cooler bag, information about Milking Yard Farm chickens, a chicken cuts diagram and complementary cut of chicken to take home!
Classes valued at over $100.00 will only cost $15.00 but please note, places very limited with currently two sessions available.
