Dumplings are for vegans too! In this hands-on class you will learn to make a variety of dumpling shapes to serve with vegan dipping sauces. Using ready-made wrappers, you will learn to make a range of different dumplings: deep fried money bags – tiny parcels of mixed bamboo shoots, wood ear fungus, corn, carrots, spring onions, mushrooms and water chestnuts, seasoned with both soy and vegetarian stir-fry sauce, served with sweet and spicy dipping sauce; gyoza dumplings filled with a mixture of tofu, snow peas, fennel, peas, and spring onions, pan-fried and served with a citrus soy dressing; and aromatic Chinese five spice wontons filled with plant based mince combined with carrots and Chinese cabbage, served in a simmering vegan broth with added Asian vegetables. Enjoy the delicious results with a warm soba noodle, rocket, fennel, edamame and pumpkin seed salad tossed in a ginger, lime, sesame soy dressing.
