STALLS, POP-UPS, BUSKING

With over 5 million visitors through our doors each year and a reputation for having some of the best fresh produce and shopping in Melbourne, stall opportunities at the Market are rare and not to be missed.

All available stalls, including vacant stalls and sales of existing businesses, are filled using a formal expression of interest (EOI) process.

Current stall opportunities can be found below. Each EOI advertised will have all the information you need about the stall, including the size, price, length of licence and the type of offer that will be considered for the space being advertised. The type of offer being sought is determined by the South Melbourne Market Mix Strategy and is therefore not negotiable.


Stall 30: Organic Butcher Stall Opportunity

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 30 to operate as an organic butcher. The stall is located in the deli aisle and is 20.2 m2.

Stall 45: Specialty Food Stall Opportunity

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 45 to operate as a specialty food stall, selling products such as:

  • Pre-cooked, packaged food
  • Specialty grocer, deli or regional food

The stall is located in Coventry Street and is 64.5 m2.

Stall 72: Pre-cooked/Packaged Food Stall Opportunity

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 72 to operate as a pre-cooked/packaged food stall, selling products such as:

  • Packaged spices
  • Pre-prepared dishes
  • Regional food or specialist deli/grocer

The stall is located in the deli aisle and is 18.6 m2.

Stall 110: Seasonal General Merchandise Stall Opportunity

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 110 to operate as a seasonal general merchandise stall, selling products such as:

  • Seasonally appropriate general merchandise, eg swimwear, outdoor items and tableware over summer; scarves, boots, tea mugs etc over winter.

The stall is located in Aisle F and is 22.8 m2.

Stall 2-3: Larder Stall Opportunity

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 2-3 to operate as a specialist larder, selling products such as:

  • Butter, flour, egg, milk, sugar, Australian spices and baking/ cooking products
  • Locally sourced produce

The stall is located in the Deli Aisle and is 33.1 m2.

Please note that there is a purchase price for this stall (to be negotiated with the current licence holder), but that information regarding licence details and Market expectations should be addressed to South Melbourne Market management.

The Market is seeking expressions of interest for stall 28-29, specialising in fresh poultry & prepared poultry meals. The stall is located in the Deli Aisle and is 93.7 m2.

Please note that there is a purchase price for this stall (to be negotiated with the current licence holder), but that information regarding licence details and Market expectations should be addressed to South Melbourne Market management.

Casual Stalls

Occasionally casual stalls become available at the Market.


Currently short term pop-ups within the Market are available as follows:

Stall 165 (currently Jason’s Discounts, in Aisle D, next to Babe’s Eggs)

Available: from July 1 for a period of up to six months (exact period TBC)

Rent: $1386.67/month

Stall size in square metres: 18.2 internal, 2.6 external

Offer sought: pre-packaged or prepared food; general merchandise. There is no facility for food preparation or hand washing on site.

Fittings provided: none

 

Stall 110 (currently Globe, cnr Centre Aisle and Aisle G, next to the York Street entrance to the Market):

Available: from July 1 for a period of at least three months (exact period TBC)

Rent: $2766.48/month

Stall size in square metres: 22.8 internal, approx. 12 external

Offer sought: general merchandise. There is no facility for food preparation or hand washing on site.

Fittings provided: change cubicles, storage in aisle G
