This popular stall for artwork and prints also offers a quality framing service.

Décor Gallery sits on the corner of East Aisle and Aisle B and has been with the Market for more than twenty years.

This month we caught up with Anna of Décor Gallery, who spoke to us about the products and services they offer, her 20+ years at the Village Market and the finesse harmonious with this duration of experience.

The minimalism of the stall, bright and modern, belies the hands-on craftsmanship of the framers who complete the framing work offsite in their long-running factory in Braybrook. Two weeks is the general timeline given to a job and affords enough time for the work to be completed to a high standard and transported between the factory and the Market.

In the stall you will find countless frame options to choose from, including colours, materials and sizes. There are just as many mounting board varieties and you could get drunk with the possibilities, blue, pink, orange, red, green, beige, yellow and on and on…Thankfully, if you are easily overwhelmed, or inexperienced, Anna is available to assist every customer in making a wise choice.

Décor Gallery also provides a convenient digital photo printing service if you want memories, or your own photography on the walls. Importantly, their service allows for each step of the wall-adornment process to be customised. The decision-making itself can be simple or elaborate, depending on your needs and choice itself is a service that we all sometimes need.

If you want something for your wall pronto, the stall also sells a selection of artworks including prints and originals, framed, on canvas, and even, printed onto glass. We are told that this is cutting-edge technology which enables a new high-level of definition. Anna shows us an example, a large lion printed on a slick black pane and we attest to the clarity, we can see the individual strands of hair in its mane and glimmer of its eyes.

Every month or so the stall has new pictures to purchase, a miscellaneous assortment of pop-culture photography, cityscapes and art-deco posters which might find home on older or on modern walls, and in bedrooms, offices or living rooms.

Before we say goodbye, Anna assures us in a lowered tone of reverence that actually, for important circumstances (such as funerals or events), Décor Gallery can offer a very quick turnaround on their services. After twenty plus years printing and framing for the community, we are sure that Décor Gallery has seen some weird, wonderful and special things. Their modest stall at the Market could never show it all.

Find Décor Gallery in Aisle B, open every Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am.
