Have you always loved baking?
No, I haven’t always loved baking I was actually a terrible cook. But I’ve always loved sweets and dreamt that one day I would have a dessert shop.
What did you do prior to setting up shop at South Melbourne Market?
I was doing real estate (flipping properties) in the United States when I decided it’s time to open my dream shop. So, I opened a doughnut, ice cream, coffee shop in Atlanta. I then learned everything about baking and ice cream making. The shop did amazing. We were on many TV shows, won a lot of awards and on the news - I just truly loved being at the shop. This is where I met Juan my now husband, he left the Spain army after 11 years and was traveling I convinced him to stay and help me. But when we had Mila we decided it was best to move back to Australia to raise her. I was in America 14 years before coming back to Australia when we finally got back we were on the hunt for the perfect location for our new concept (My Cookie Factory) when we visited the South Melbourne Market we just knew it was meant to be here!
Why did you choose to become a part of South Melbourne Market?
We love the local community and excited for our baby Mila to grow up in the South Melbourne Market community!
What has been your most popular cookie flavour so far?
So far all the cookies have been a hit but standouts are. Biscoff, Kinda bueno, White chocolate raspberry and Birthday cake!
We are always working on new flavors and new products. We have cookie-sundaes available now and ice cream cookie sandwiches!
Valentines is coming up, so we are working on a Valentine’s Day box with 6 new flavors.
