Mulled Wine (Glühwein)

Known as mulled wine in English, Glühwein is winter magic in a glass. It warms hands and souls during Germany’s cold winter months, especially around Christmas.
Serves: 5

Ingredients

1 bottle of red wine (preferably Merlot)

60g Gewürzhaus Vanilla Bean Sugar

2 tsp Gewürzhaus Glühwein Gewürz

1 Infuser Bag

 

Method

1. Place two teaspoons of the Glühwein Gewürz into the infuser bag.

2. Pour the wine into a medium saucepan and add the Vanilla Bean Sugar (you can substitute for brown, raw or white sugar) and the infuser bag with Glühwein Gewürz. Heat for approximately 15-20 minutes. Be careful not to boil.

Serving

Serve your mulled wine warm in glasses and as an option, add in a slice of orange and cinnamon quill.
